Shannon's extensive knowledge on the subject of evidence, along with her dedicated law enforcement career, has made her an expert in this field and her passion is evident. Shannon's efforts left everyone in the class talking about the class outline, her ease of public speaking and hilarious sense of humor, which is so needed in this line of work!

Shannon Turner was a great instructor for our Property and Evidence Management Class. Her instruction was educational, fun, and engaging. By integrating all the various perspectives and practices of Evidence Management, this was a comprehensive course that covered various related topics. I learned so much while also having the opportunity to network with others in the field.

FAQs

Find answers to common questions about our training and services

If we host training at our agency, what's in it for us?

Host agencies receive three complimentary seats. You provide the space and coordination; the training is delivered in your facility, with your policies and context in mind. Get in touch to discuss.

Are there recordings I can revisit after the class?

Recordings may be available for some sessions (e.g. online or recorded webinars). For in-person classes, we focus on the live experience plus takeaway materials. Ask when you register what's included.

What is covered in the registration fee?

Each event's details page lists what's included (e.g. refreshments where applicable) and what's not (e.g. travel, accommodation, meals).

What am I left with after the training?

Handouts and references that cover the topics we go through. Exact materials depend on the course; I can outline what you'll receive when you register or for custom training.

Where can I see a sample of your teaching style?

Teaching samples are available—including a 45-minute in-person demo and webinar content through Penn. Links and clips are on this site or by request.

Do you offer webinars for attorneys or other audiences?

Yes. I teach webinars for legal and professional audiences (e.g. University of Pennsylvania and others) on evidence management and chain of custody. Organizations: get in touch to discuss.

How long are your training sessions?

It varies. The 40-hour fundamentals course runs over several days; workshops may be one or two days. Each event listing shows duration. Custom on-site: we design length and format around your needs.

Do you offer in-person, online, or both?

Both. In-person at host agencies and scheduled locations; online sessions and webinars. Format is on each event listing.

How do I register for an upcoming session?

Sessions open for registration are on the Training page—click Register on the event you want. No session that works? Get in touch or sign up to be notified when new dates are added.

Can we host training at our agency?

Yes. On-site training tailored to your facility, policies, and team. We can discuss format, length, and topics. Get in touch.

Do you offer CE credits or certification?

Depending on the course and host, CE or POST credits may be available. We can confirm what applies when you register.

What topics do you cover?

Evidence documentation, chain of custody, storage methods, disposition protocols, retention schedules, audit preparation, and property room operations. Exact curriculum depends on the course; check the training listings or get in touch.

Do you offer accommodations or customized training for our agency?

Yes. I adapt to your systems, constraints, and goals. We can discuss on-site training tailored to your team, specific topics, or schedule accommodations. Get in touch.

How is your training different from other evidence management or certification programs?

I teach from real-world experience, not a vendor script. Content is built on what I've seen work—and fail—in hundreds of agencies. Practical, field-tested methods; no product pitch.

Who should attend your training?

Evidence managers, property room staff, and supervisors responsible for evidence handling and facility operations. The curriculum is built for people who work in the evidence room every day.

What do I get from the online training?

Same expert-led content and chance to ask agency-specific questions—without travel. Many sessions include Q&A or chat; some offer replay or recordings. Registration and pricing are on each event's details page.

What do I get from the live training?

Practical content you can apply at your agency; direct questions specific to your situation; and in-person networking with others in the field. Registration and pricing are on each event's details page.
